Oil, air and cabin filters, wiper blades, fluids and complete service kits to General Motors original specification.
Service parts are where specification is easiest to compromise and most costly to get wrong. A GM oil filter is designed around a bypass valve opening pressure and an anti-drainback valve that holds oil in the galleries at shutdown. A filter without a functioning anti-drainback valve gives a dry start every morning, and dry starts are where the majority of bearing and chain wear happens. We supply filters, fluids and service kits to the original GM specification for the engine and the service interval.
Filters are the cheapest parts on the vehicle and the ones whose neglect damages the most expensive components.
Match the oil specification, not just the viscosity grade. GM's dexos specification governs additive chemistry as well as viscosity, and using an oil that meets the grade but not the specification affects timing chain wear on several engine families.
We supply Filters & Maintenance components across every General Motors division:
Once a year for most drivers, more often in dusty conditions. A blocked cabin filter also reduces evaporator airflow, which shows up as poor air conditioning performance.
The valve behaviour inside it does. Bypass opening pressure and anti-drainback valve quality vary widely, and both directly affect what happens in the first seconds after a cold start.
